A few years ago, I traveled to Atlanta, GA for the annual Ancestral Health Symposium. That’s where I first met Kyle Maynard. He told stories of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, wrestling in high school, and a career as an MMA fighter.
All of this is pretty impressive in and of itself, but here’s the kicker – he’s a quadruple amputee. Kyle was born with a rare condition known as congenital amputation, where fibrous bands prevent the growth of fetal limbs.
After listening to Kyle speak that day, I realized just how powerful inspiration can be. As you try to heal from a chronic or debilitating health issue, the one thing that can make all the difference to you is the belief that you’ll eventually get to where you want to be. Sometimes, that belief is hard to find.
After spending a few years checking out online forums and private Facebook groups dedicated to those suffering from specific health conditions, I came to realize just how depressing that experience can be.
There are too many people out there who’ve given up, and are sulking, commiserating, and spreading their gloom onto others. As much compassion as I feel for anyone going through a health challenge, and even sympathize with what many of them are going through, I can’t help but find the group commiserating both depressing and counter-productive.
Sufferers need hope. And they often turn to the internet for that hope. So to be greeted with depressing stories of people who’ve given up is just doing no good to anyone.
So what’s the solution?
A Search For Inspiration
We’ve embarked on a campaign to bring together the inspiring stories of people who refuse to take no for an answer. This includes those who:
- Have healed from health issues of all kinds, using or complementing with unconventional approaches or natural means.
- Are in the midst of their healing journey and have a never-say-die, positive attitude about the road ahead.
For people who’re willing to open their eyes and invest themselves wholly, solutions always exist.
If you’ve got an inspiring healing story, we’d love to hear about it and share it with our audience. We’ll profile you on our site, as well as on our Instagram account. Your story could range from losing those extra few pounds by adopting a real-food diet, to beating cancer through lifestyle and nutrition modifications.
It could also be about how you’ve seen seventeen doctors in the past two years and are still working to figure out exactly what’s wrong with you. But the one part of you that refuses to feel sick is your heart, because you refuse to give up on your quest for great health.
Just submit your story, along with before and after photos.
Knowing that another person out there can relate to what someone is going through, or has made it to the other side, can be enough to inspire previously unknown perseverance. Furthermore, lightbulbs could go off based on YOUR story, ultimately changing someone’s life for the better. So be brave. Share your incredible story with people who need it more than you could imagine.
